It turns out that when you leave a bowl of partially eaten cereal on the table and you get up and walk away (for whatever reason an eight-year-old might have to do that) you should expect a dog - or dogs - learning the ropes of being an inside dog to take an intense interest in the cereal. In fact, you should expect them to eat it. The youngster was not even a little amused at finding the dogs with their paws on the table happily lapping away at her cereal. I'm guessing she'll be more careful about her breakfast in the future.
