Things have been wild around here lately. I spent yesterday morning in family court...all for naught. It was worse than a complete waste of time an energy because the youngster was required to be there but in the end she could have skipped it. It was a very long day and I'm annoyed as all get-out by the way things went down. The end result is that there is yet another delay.
As for criminal court, that case is is scheduled to begin today. We'll be notified one day in advance about when we're require to come in and testify.
I got an e-mail from my contact at State Adoptions and it looks like we'll finally get moving on the adoption homestudy process. Just so you'll know that means more classes, a physical, interviews, home inspection, references, etc.
On the 26th I'm attending an adoption seminar which will bring me up-to-date on my required hours of training for the foster agency. Well, that excludes the required CPR recertification which I just learned was due in November of last year. Great.
Work on the fence replacement has finally commenced. Rather than fooling around with wooden posts we opted to go with metal posts, and a good-neighbor style fence. With this design it won't matter which direction the wind blows, we won't lose the entire fence again. Worst-case scenario we will lose alternating sections which can then be strapped back up onto the secured metal posts. As long as the guy was here to work on the fence I opted to replace another section of fence facing the street. Right now the dogs have the run of my yard, and that of the neighbor (with her permission). They're going to be annoyed when their yard is reduced by half.
